Introduction

Well it’s February already, where did January go?  Why didn’t I put out a Newsletter in January you might ask?  See Rambling for one of the parts of the dog ate my homework excuses.  Meanwhile I have included all the customers added since Thanksgiving.  If you recall I skipped that section as a Christmas bonus.

New Sales People

Kirsten Barberio is a fan of red wines, especially Pinot Noir from Oregon.  She started her career at the same Honeywell I worked for in a former life.  Since then she has made several career moves most recently to Real Estate.  She lives in McDowell Mountain Ranch and will be working the area of North East Scottsdale and Phoenix.

Monica Barrows, who attended one of our staff meetings last year, has been taking Sommelier classes and is excited to be in the trade.  She has spent much of her career working for the Arizona Opera on their fund raising and event organizing side.  Monica lives in Central Phoenix and will be working existing accounts and developing new ones in that area.

Rambling

This week gave us pause to consider how much we have learned to depend on technology.  Our internet service went out after the rain, came back briefly and then stayed out for the rest of the week.  We have an alternate connection but it is slower and is not set up as conveniently for originating or replying to email.  Email is one of the mechanisms I use almost all the time sending off requests, fielding questions and staying in touch.  It was like not being able to speak when someone calls you on the phone.  The internet is also key for Laurie monitoring bank accounts and staying on top of what is happening.  Our business survived, but with a lot more effort.  I can not even imagine what the total loss of a connection would mean.

Finally on Friday a service guy replaced the part that had leaked and shorted out in the rain.  Not a moment too soon, now back to newsletter writing and training sales people.

The rambler rambles on…
